Some say certain books are too dangerous and harmful for teens to consume. It is the books that tackle controversial topics like racism, mental health, and the LGBTQIA+ perspective, that are being banned. Books Unbanned is working to unban these books and allow teens to have the ability to read and learn from these issues mentioned. With books having the ability to transport your imagination to the wildest places, we wanted to bring to light a wild western fantasy. This fantasy embodies the danger that gatekeepers will try to paint these books as. With our tagline “Words Unchained” we’ve created an experience that allows the audience to wonder why these books are banned and associated negatively. With this in mind, the audience will feel inclined to find out more about these books and how to unban them.

Brand Activation:
Wanted for words

For our brand activation we put interactive display boards in shopping malls and public libraries to target teens.  The display board prompts the viewer to select on the screen which books they have read before. Upon submission of their answers, our interactive board takes a photo of the viewer and prints a wanted poster themed bookmark  of them with the Books Unbanned logo.
